Day 3 - 19th Feb, 2024

Today, our attention was directed towards Sustainable Development Goal 3 - Good Health and Well-being, a pivotal aspect of the global agenda aiming to ensure that everyone, regardless of age or background, can lead healthy lives and experience overall well-being. This objective encompasses a broad spectrum of factors, ranging from access to healthcare services to promoting healthy lifestyle choices. In our discussion, we delved into both individual and institutional contributions to advancing SDG 3. At the forefront of the conversation were the proactive measures undertaken by the school to instill and reinforce healthy habits among its students.

One such initiative involves the promotion of nutritious snacks while discouraging the consumption of junk food. Recognizing the critical role of diet in overall health, the school has curated a special healthy menu for snack time for students from Kindergarten to Class III. By offering a variety of wholesome options, the school aims to cultivate a preference for nutritious foods early on in students' lives.

Moreover, the school actively encourages students to make healthier choices, even during celebratory occasions such as birthdays. Rather than indulging in sugary confections like chocolates and cakes, students are encouraged to opt for healthier alternatives like peanut candies. This not only promotes better dietary practices but also fosters a culture of mindful eating within the school community.

In line with its commitment to promoting well-being, the school also emphasizes the importance of education and awareness surrounding healthy eating habits. Through various educational initiatives and practical experiences, students are exposed to the benefits of a balanced diet, empowering them to make informed decisions about their health.

Importantly, the school's approach to supporting SDG 3 is rooted in fostering understanding rather than enforcing strict regulations. The school aims to cultivate a sense of ownership and responsibility for one's health.

In essence, the school's multifaceted approach underscores its dedication to not only meeting the objectives of SDG 3 but also nurturing a generation of individuals who prioritize and actively pursue a healthy lifestyle for themselves and their communities.

The tagline is:
Prefer your Mom's Food to Restaurant Food;
it is seasoned with LOVE!
