Eureka ’23 - A Day of Scientific Delight

Science enthusiasts congregated at Primrose to bear witness to a captivating spectacle of innovation and inquisitiveness during the school's recent Science Exhibition – Eureka ‘23. This event served as a grand celebration of knowledge, creativity, and the spirit of scientific exploration.

The highlight of the day was the gracious presence of two distinguished chief guests, Prof. Dr. Kalaiselvam.M and Dr. Sivakumar.K, eminent scientists hailing from the Marine Sciences department at Annamalai University. Their engagement with the students was nothing short of remarkable. They invested quality time with the young learners, inspiring them with encouraging words. We were deeply honored to have them share the day with our students.

Prof. Dr. Kalaiselvam is an esteemed scientist and educator with an extensive 29-year research background in Marine Microbiology, particularly in the domain of Marine Mycology. He boasts a portfolio of over 100 research papers published in peer-reviewed journals and has mentored numerous PhD and MSc students. His accomplishments include prestigious awards such as the Nation Builder Award-2020, Scientist of the Year 2017 Award, and Best NSS Programme Officer Award – 2017. He is an active contributor to the scientific community, serving as the Vice President of the Mycological Society of India and a member of the Board of Studies in various universities. Prof. Dr. Kalaiselvam is a highly respected figure in the field, and his contributions to Marine Microbiology are truly noteworthy.

Dr. Sivakumar is a Faculty member in Marine Sciences at Annamalai University. He leads several projects, some of significant financial scale. His initial research delved into the impact of tsunamis on mangroves. He represents the IUCN as the South East Asian Member and is a crucial member of the Faculty Team for ENVIS, dedicated to the Conservation of Indian Mangroves, Coral Reefs, and Lagoons. Dr. Sivakumar also serves as the Secretary of the Marine Academy and Research Consortium and is the Advisor for the Academy's Functioning at CAS in Marine Biology. Currently, he holds responsibility for organizing India’s Participation in the Global Mangroves’ Ecosystem and eDNA Analysis. Dr. Sivakumar is an accomplished scientist and educator, deeply committed to marine ecosystem conservation. His work has illuminated the impact of human activities on marine life and has contributed to the development of strategies for preserving these vital ecosystems. He stands as a role model for young scientists, and his dedication to conservation is an inspiration to us all.

The heart of the event undeniably resided in the student exhibits. Each class showcased their own section, featuring unique projects and displays that spanned a wide spectrum of scientific disciplines. Ranging from intricate models of the solar system to interactive experiments in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Computer Science, the students masterfully demonstrated their creativity and knowledge. The Department of Social Studies also presented an exquisite display of artifacts and monuments.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to all the parents who played a pivotal role in this exhibition. Their guidance and unwavering support for their children's scientific pursuits have ignited a sense of curiosity and a genuine love for learning. This event beautifully underscored the indispensable partnership between the school and parents in nurturing the future scientists and innovators of tomorrow.

Thanks to Mrs. Noreen Victor for all her efforts in making Eureka' 23 an event that exceeded expectations! A special thanks goes out to our amazing team of teachers and non-teaching staff members whose hard work and commitment made Eureka'23 an unforgettable experience for everyone involved.
Eureka '23 was not merely a showcase of scientific projects; it was an exultant celebration of knowledge and curiosity. The presence of Dr. Kalaiselvam and Dr. Sivakumar, lent an extra layer of inspiration to the proceedings. The students' diligence, the dedication of the teachers, and the support of the parents converged to create a memorable day that will resonate for years to come.

National Hindi Diwas

Language is not just a means of communication; it's a reflection of a nation's identity and culture. To celebrate the National Hindi Diwas, Primrose School came alive with the vibrant colors and rhythms of Hindi. It was a day filled with cultural programs, contests, and an opportunity to showcase our love for our mother tongue, Hindi.

The celebration kicked off with a cultural program that showcased the rich diversity of Hindi-speaking regions across India. The students from different grades came together to perform traditional dances, songs, and skits that depicted the cultural tapestry of our country.

National Hindi Diwas at Primrose School also saw the culmination of several Hindi-related contests held in the preceding weeks. The students put in their best efforts, and the results were nothing short of impressive. Certificates of participation and prizes were distributed to the winners. It was heartening to see our young learners embrace their mother tongue with such zeal.

As the day came to a close, the sense of pride in our culture and language was palpable. National Hindi Diwas served as a reminder of the significance of Hindi in our lives. It's not just a language; it's a connection to our history, our values, and our identity as Indians.

The celebration of National Hindi Diwas at Primrose School was more than just a cultural event; it was a reaffirmation of our commitment to preserving and promoting our mother tongue. It was a day of unity, where students and teachers, came together to celebrate the beauty and richness of Hindi. We look forward to more such celebrations in the future, where we can continue to nurture our love for the Hindi language and our cultural heritage.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Mrs. Laxmi, our dedicated Hindi Teacher, for her unwavering commitment in meticulously organizing the contests and event.

Peer-to-Peer Learning Launches This Teachers' Day

Teachers' Day holds a special place in the hearts of students and teachers alike. It's a day to celebrate the invaluable contributions of our mentors and express gratitude for their guidance. This year, on the occasion of Teachers' Day, our school is embarking on a unique journey to enhance student confidence through peer-to-peer learning.

The peer-to-peer activity will get started on Teachers' Day and it aims to create an environment where students can take on the role of both teacher and learner. By doing so, we hope to nurture self-assured individuals who are equipped with both knowledge and the ability to communicate it effectively. Here's a closer look at what this initiative entails.

The best way to learn is by teaching. Our students will have the opportunity to prepare and deliver short lessons on subjects they excel in. Whether it's Mathematics, Science, Literature, or any other subject, our young teachers will share their expertise with their peers. This experience will not only deepen their understanding of the subject matter but also boost their self-confidence. This hands-on approach will help them build leadership and communication skills, essential for personal and professional growth.

The inaugural sessions of the 'Peer-to-Peer Learning' activity will be held from 9 am to 10:30 am on this Teachers' Day.

Thank You
