Reducing Screen Time – An Awareness Rally by Class IV

In today’s digital world, screens have become a constant companion for children and adults alike. While technology has its benefits, too much screen time can affect our health, studies, and even our relationships. To spread awareness about this important issue, the students of Class IV at Primrose School took the initiative to organize an awareness rally on the importance of reducing screen time. They also spoke to the parents who attended the PTM about the ill effects of excessive screen time.

With placards, thoughtful slogans, and a strong message, the young students marched with enthusiasm, reminding everyone that balance is the key to a healthy lifestyle. Their rally highlighted how excessive screen usage can lead to eye strain, lack of physical activity, disturbed sleep, and reduced focus on studies and hobbies.

The children also encouraged simple yet powerful alternatives - spending time with family, reading books, playing outdoor games, exploring nature, and pursuing creative activities. Their voices carried a message not just for their peers, but for all of us: “Let’s not be slaves to screens, let’s live life beyond them.”

This initiative by Class IV is a shining example of how young minds can inspire change. By spreading awareness in such a meaningful way, they have reminded us that while technology is a tool, it should never replace the joys of real-life connections and experiences. This rally was another step in teaching our students the importance of balance in today’s fast-paced digital age.

Independence Day at Primrose

Independence Day is a reminder of our nation’s journey, the sacrifices of our freedom fighters, and the values that unite us as one people.

This year’s celebration was filled with pride, joy, and a spirit of togetherness. The day began with the flag hoisting ceremony, followed by the soulful rendition of the national anthem, filling every heart with patriotism.

Our students showcased their talents through speeches and vibrant cultural performances. Each act reflected not only the rich heritage of our nation but also the creativity and enthusiasm of our young learners.

At Primrose, we believe that days like these nurture pride in our country, respect for our history, and a commitment to building a brighter future.

Jai Hind!

🌞 Why is Morning Assembly Super Important?

Lately, a few students have been missing the Morning Assembly on purpose, perhaps without realizing how much it adds to their day. This post is a gentle reminder of the magic that happens when we all start the morning together—and why it’s worth being there from the very first bell.

Each part of the assembly is planned with care, so every student gets to learn, participate, and grow in confidence. From the opening prayer to the final announcements, every minute has a purpose—whether it’s building values, sharing knowledge, or inspiring the day ahead.

Here’s how our assembly unfolds each day:

Every morning, before our classes begin, we all gather for something special—Morning AssemblyIt’s not just standing in lines and listening to announcements. It’s a magical start to our school day. Here’s why:

We All Come Together: Morning Assembly is the only time when every single student in the school is in one place. You get to see friends from other classes, smile at your teachers, and feel like you are part of one big school family. It’s a moment where we all say “Good Morning!” together, and that makes the day feel brighter.

Chance to Shine on Stage: Have you ever gone up to say the thought for the day, read the news, or perform a skit? It can feel a little scary at first—but every time you do it, you become more confident and brave. The stage in assembly is like a practice ground where you discover that your voice matters and your ideas can inspire others.

Learning Good Habits Without Trying: In assembly, we stand in neat lines, keep our voices quiet until it’s our turn to speak, and listen carefully to whoever is on stage. We don’t even realize it, but these habits are teaching us teamwork, respect, and discipline—skills that help us not only in school but in life.

Little Bits of Wisdom: Every story, quote, or fact we hear in assembly is like a tiny treasure for our minds. One day it might be a fun science fact, another day a story about kindness, or a wise saying that makes you think. These little nuggets slowly make us smarter, kinder, and more thoughtful.

Celebrating Schoolmates and Classmates: When someone wins a medal, gets a certificate, or achieves something special, we all clap for them. That moment makes them feel proud and happy—and it also makes us want to try harder so we can have our own special moment on stage one day.

Ready, Set, Learn!

We begin with a short prayer. This helps our minds calm down after the rush of the morning and prepares us for learning. By the time we leave the assembly, we feel focused, refreshed, and ready to give our best in class.

So remember - Morning Assembly is not just a routine. It’s where we start our day together, share knowledge, celebrate each other, and prepare our minds to learn and grow!

We request parents to encourage their wards to make the Morning Assembly a non-negotiable part of their day, ensuring every morning begins with inspiration, connection, and a readiness to learn.

Celebrating Colours of the Nation

We are delighted to announce the winners of the Rangoli Competition held on Friday, 8th August 2025, as part of our “Tiranga-Inspired Art” celebrations. 🌳 Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam at Primrose

Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam" is a nationwide initiative launched by the Indian government in 2024, inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call to honor mothers and promote environmental conservation by planting a tree in their name.

Primrose School has always been home to many lush trees. This year, as part of “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam”, we added more saplings to our campus – each planted in honor of our mothers.

The initiative will not only enrich our green spaces but also will deepen the values of gratitude, responsibility, and care for nature among our students. Every tree now stands as a living tribute – a promise to nurture both Mother Earth and the love of our mothers. 🌱

School: A Mini Society Where Children Learn to Live

Walk into any school, and you’ll find more than lessons being taught — you’ll witness life unfolding. A school is not just a building of classrooms; it is a mini society, where children learn to coexist, contribute, and care. It is here that the seeds of citizenship, empathy, and community are sown — one interaction at a time.

What Makes a School a Mini Society?

Just like the larger society we live in, a school is made up of diverse individuals — different backgrounds, personalities, and ideas — all working together within a shared space. Within this environment, children experience:

Rules and responsibilities
Opportunities for collaboration
Diverse cultures and perspectives
Celebration of differences
Problem-solving through real-life situations

Every classroom becomes a small community; every playground, a shared space of negotiation, fairness, and friendship.

Learning Beyond Subjects

A child may learn numbers and grammar in class, but some of the most lasting lessons come from beyond the textbook. In this living society, students are constantly learning how to:

Respect others’ space and opinions
Take turns, share, and compromise
Speak up with confidence and listen with humility
Lead a group while being responsible for its outcome
Apologize, forgive, and move on

These social, emotional, and ethical lessons are deeply woven into everyday school life — through group projects, classroom duties, conflicts, assemblies, or even lunch breaks.

Life in Action: Where Theory Meets Practice

Unlike a lecture or a written test, school life puts values into action. For instance:
A child who comforts a classmate is learning empathy.
One who loses a game and congratulates the winner is practicing sportsmanship.
A monitor maintaining silence or checking uniforms is learning leadership and responsibility.

These are the same principles that form the core of a healthy society.

Preparing for the World Outside

A school doesn’t just prepare students for exams — it prepares them for life. It teaches them:

How to work with people they may not like.
How to speak with kindness and listen with patience.
How to follow rules, but also think critically.
How to be independent, yet responsible for others.

They may not realize it now, but every group project, every assembly speech, every debate or class conflict is helping them rehearse for the world they will one day shape.

Why This Perspective Matters?

When we see a school as a mini society, we begin to value not just academic performance but also:

Emotional growth
Social skills
Moral courage
Teamwork and cooperation
Respect for diversity

These are the building blocks of a compassionate, thoughtful, and responsible citizen.

Food For Thought

School is where a child learns not just to read and write, but to live — with others, for others, and among others. In this structured society, children explore who they are, understand how the world works, and slowly become the kind of people the world needs. Let us recognize the school not just as an educational space — but as a living model of society, where tomorrow’s citizens are shaped, guided, and inspired.
