The second bagless day of this academic year was a memorable educational experience for our students, as they embarked on a farm visit to KVK Farm in Puducherry. This visit provided the students with a unique opportunity to learn about various aspects of agriculture and farming practices.
During their time at the farm, the students were introduced to the fascinating process of growing mushrooms. They observed the stages of mushroom cultivation, from preparing the substrate to harvesting the fully grown fungi. This hands-on experience allowed them to understand the delicate and precise nature of mushroom farming. The students explored the world of herbal farming. They were shown different types of medicinal and aromatic plants, learning about their uses and benefits. The farm experts explained how these herbs are cultivated, cared for, and harvested, giving the students insight into sustainable and organic farming practices. The students were also introduced to this advanced technique used for plant propagation and the production of disease-free plants.
