A Cinematic Tribute to the People's President

On the 18th of July, 2025, our school was privileged to host a very special screening of the inspirational film Engal Nayagan Kalam – a cinematic ode to the life and legacy of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. What made the event even more memorable was the presence of the film’s director, Mr. Vivekanandhan R., who graciously joined us to interact with our students and share his vision behind the making of the film.

The screening was not just an ordinary movie experience. It was a soulful journey into the life of a man who rose from humble beginnings to become the Missile Man of India, and later, the People’s President. Through powerful visuals and heartfelt storytelling, the movie captured the essence of Dr. Kalam’s values – simplicity, determination, discipline, and a boundless love for students.

As the film unfolded, the students grew silent with reflection. Many students were visibly moved – some even in tears – as they connected deeply with the struggles and aspirations of Dr. Kalam. The impact was profound. The movie did not just inform; it inspired. It lit a spark in young hearts, urging them to dream bigger, think deeper, and act with purpose.

After the screening, Mr. Vivekanandhan R. interacted with the students. With warmth and humility, he spoke about why he created Engal Nayagan Kalam – not just as a tribute, but as a mission to spread Kalam’s ideals to every child in the country. He emphasized that the future of India lies in classrooms, and that Dr. Kalam’s dream was to see every student become a torchbearer of progress and peace. The interaction left a lasting impression. Students asked questions, shared their thoughts, and expressed how the movie had touched their hearts.

We are grateful to Mr. Vivekanandhan for his presence and for reminding us of the power of stories – especially those that are rooted in truth, service, and the spirit of a man who continues to guide us from beyond..
